#CMAD 2016: a time to celebrate social media professionals

Community Manager Appreciation Day (CMAD) is around the corner. Jan. 25, 2016 is a 24-hour celebration of social media in general and community managers in particular.

The event, which started in 2010, brings together social media professionals around the world via Google Hangouts. I thoroughly enjoyed the panel that I participated in during the 2014 event – the theme for my session was “growing communities from scratch.” See more here.

This year I plan to check out a few panels, including Pros and Cons of Personal Branding for Community Managers¬†which tackles an often thorny topic for CMs who want to represent their employer’s brand but also their own interests and passions.

A great thing about My Community Manager, which produces the event, is that all the panels and other resources can be viewed later on mycmgr.com. So no need to get up at 3 a.m. to watch an event live during CMAD, unless like me you’re up anyway feeding your baby!
