Lesson: Always use your products
TORONTO – Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry has become the laughing stock of the Internet after sending a tweet from its official account from a competitor’s device.
The tweet, sent Tuesday morning from the @BlackBerry account, read, “Keep up with the conversation on @Twitter.” The message was fairly normal for the Waterloo, Ont.-based company, aside from the part that read, “via Twitter for iPhone.”
The text that identifies which app the message was sent from isn’t visible in Twitter’s main app, but could be seen in other platforms like TweetDeck, as pointed out by The Verge who first noticed the tweet.
The tweet has since been deleted. BlackBerry has not addressed the incident.
But, this isn’t the first time BlackBerry has been in the middle of an embarrassing Twitter gaffe.
